AnyBody Can Yoga!
Your yoga journey begins with how you are in this moment. It is your journey and your practice and it is yours to explore. It is a way to gain a deeper knowledge of your body, mind and emotions. It is a way to connect and be still.
In our fast paced lives, we can often feel disconnected. Disconnected from our thoughts, our bodies, our emotions and from people around us. We end up with illnesses and injuries and resort to external help because of having little time to care for ourselves. This is where a yoga practice comes in.
By beginning a yoga practice, you give this time back to yourself. You give yourself the opportunity to become more aware, more mindful of your internal and external environment and you take back ownership for your own health and wellbeing.
A frequent yoga practice has been shown to develop a healthy body and mind, and promote general wellbeing. It improves our ability to deal with stress, manage our energy levels and quality of sleep, as well as facilitate recovery from different ailments and injuries.
What you probably know yoga as is one of those exercise classes where there are a lot of bendy people in leggings doing weird and wonderful poses and sometimes standing on their heads.
And as inspiring and incredible as this is, you might find it intimidating if you're new to yoga and be deterred from going to your first class. But now's your chance to not be afraid anymore!
Yoga means "to unite". It is something that helps us to be kinder, feel better and more alive. It gives us the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and in turn reconnect with each other.
