My name is Cassy. I grew up in South Africa and have a degree in Physiotherapy. I hold a 200Hr teaching certification in Hatha Yoga that I completed in Rishikesh in India as well as a 200Hr teaching certification in Ashtanga and Yin Yoga from Indonesia.
Yoga was something that came into my late teenage life as an athlete as something to help me be more flexible and help me with my "tight hamstrings". At the time I knew little about the rest of what makes up yoga and occasionally did the odd class because my coaches said it would be a good idea for me physically. Since then I have been developing my own practice for the past 10 years, with 7 of those years as a qualified physiotherapist and 5 of them being fortunate enough to teach yoga around the world both on land and at sea.
My wish is to make yoga accessible to everyone. It is a practice that I find to be a constant teacher in my own life and is something that helps ground me when the world can feel overwhelming and when my mind gets carried away. From the breath, the poses, the mindfulness and the community that yoga brings together, I think there is something for everyone to take from the tools yoga gives us to bring a little more stillness and peace into our ever-changing daily lives.
